time it was...

... and what a time it was, it was.... a time of innocence, a time of confidences... long ago it must be... I have a photograph, preserve your memories... they're all that's left you...

Preserve your memories. Say what you mean to say.  Go the distance... it's all that matters..

...and smell the rain... and smile...

Say...

... song from The Bucket List... Listen to the words, believe what they say... and say it now...believe me... just do it..
i have one pair of socks that are almost there - i have a second pair of fingerless gloves almost there... i have my brain almost there...

if not for the places that hold my friends... where would i be some days???

Spooks/MI5 is almost upon us - in its honor I purchased the first two seasons and just received them... whist Richard Armitage  *   will not probably be in the first one (more's the pity) if you've not seen this outstanding british drama NETFLIX it already!!!!! (don't forget to netflix North and South **- just do it - and NOT the US Version with Patrick Swayze... no no no no no)

* thanks angela for the linking lovely
** thanks heather for showing N&S as we all know it is...

i promise to find some pattern links soon - promise promise... but this week i am lucky to be writing  - it will have to suffice this week.. is september over yet?

And as for the quote of the day.. this time it is from a novel...
His heart beat thick at the thought of her coming...

Summer has come and past...

... wake me up when september ends... it's a theme.. it's a mantra.. it's a song by .. maybe... greenday??? it's not seven years, but 5 years is bad enough

This week has been a busy one... busy with what is the question... I got a request for a pair or fingerless gloves and am making them.   I am working on the last pair of soldier socks... from preknit legs i mean.... nothing more right at the moment... yes the mittens call me.. i will do them... i might even have yarn (stop laughing).  OH asked me the other day - what do you knit for you?  ummmm... what i knit and give away i knit for me.  some things i do for art, some things i do for heart...

We had a gorgeous sunset the other day - so i ran to the best place for the camera  and took some...

as my memory rests but never forgets what i lost - wake me up when september ends...

The Distance

okay... new day new (to me) song....The Youtube link is to a montage of romantic leading men/women... pull up the chair with a cup of joe and enjoy it...

... i can't take the time til i next see you smile...that's how much you mean to me...

...i've worked on soldier socks.. yes i know, i shouldn't wait for applause now should i? I've also started a pair of fingerless gloves that were requested....

...i've downloaded Tess of the D'Urbervilles (believe me if it can be misspelled, i've just done it)
but have not been up to sitting at the computer watching it. So perhaps tonite...i've heard MI-5/Spooks will begin Oct 31st.. not a day too soon for me. If you've not watched this tight drama produced in UK, do it...

quote of the day: I'll give you an autograph, if you say my name...

I won't say goodbye....

... i won't let you slip away from me...
... well i didn't finish soldier socks this week. I
didn't finish anything. I had some real life get in the way. It gets in everyone's way. I think ... i would almost bet good money... that it will be in the way quite a bit over the next few weeks.
...don't let go...
Knitting things.... this week i received the fall issue of Vogue Knitting - it is so full of things i would knit, it is not the usual. I am usually saying "nice but no thanks" - but not this time...The cover mittens alone (Brooklyntweed's own)
are worth the price of admission. But there are sweaters i would make too - which is odd to believe as i don't gravitate there usually.
i knit two pair of booties this week for people in need of believing... the second bootie of the second pair required tinking back as it iwas not a match.
I finished season 6 of Spooks/MI5 this week. If you have not seen Spooks/MI5 (must use the politically correct title in the US) and like tight well written drama, get this from your library, your video store, your download rental place, your family as a gift. do it - you will not be sorry. I cannot wait to see a certain new character wrap his acting talents around a well written drama - and i don't have long to.
I also watched, from a recommendation, State of Play from my "queue". This british miniseries features David Morrissey, Bill Nighy, James McAvoy and John Simm, among others, and woh, tight political drama over 6 episodes. Give yourself time to watch a whole disk if you can, as it does suck you in.
ITV in GB is showing Lost In Austen. Episode 2 aired wednesday past. It is not Pride and Prejudice, but it does make you laugh. There are ways, outside britain - go and look around on You Tube. or ....(there's a wink there, you just can't see it)
I'm a bit RAstarved of late. I'm back watching North and South again. "Miss Hale, i was very ungrateful yesterday...." please watch this if you have not. Queue it, borrow it, buy it (you'll like it) ... Period drama is soooo easy to watch.... so easy to love... here is RA reading a bit of the original novel by Elizabeth Gaskell - thank you spikesbint/angelfish69 for a gift for all of us... not just richard....

am i done? don'tcha hope so? i've gone on like a cow...

no quote today.. look up a bit and listen and read mr. thornton's words... or listen to richard doing it...no audiobook, this... but rather just a sweetner....

Coincidences...

... that son the younger's parent's weekend was at the end of the week...that i was at the DMV... that the other half didn't want to drive an hour and a half on the day we would be leaving... that meetings can be rescheduled... all those coincidences made him change his meeting for this day... that would have taken place in the north tower.. in the morning... above the site of impact...

to anyone who lost someone on this day ... or because of this day...on this day i hold you in my heart.
because it is never long enough.. never far enough past... never ever over...i don't know what you know.. but i do...

Tears of an Angel....

...okay.. i now have to see the "s" word everywhere on every calendar - not fair...not one bit... no one took it away whilst i wasn't looking... can someone get on that please???

Title is the title of the song of the day... what would we do without youtube to help us with the sound track to our lives? Stop every clock - the stars are in shock... can you hear heaven cry the tears of an angel...

I am determined to finish the next pair of soldier socks this week if i can. i can feel the lethargy creeping up on me and it will suck me in ... no admonishments on this please... i may back off a bit on the posting because i don't think you will want to read a downward spiral.. i am working on it, really i am.. my friends? rocks all of them.. we all have diamond days and those that are just rocks. So... if september is my rock month, what's a girl to do?

I am going to watch the rest of season 6 of Spooks/MI5 this week at night too (ripping up to be a busy week since it is already wednesday, no?) Son the Elder and bride will be here this weekend for the big wedding do... i am glad of it.. but would rather spend the weekend sitting on the couch just hearing all about their lives...

There WILL be a season 4 of Robin Hood, according to a quick blurb on BBC Radio by the man of the hour (day, week, month, year, decade, century) - Sir Guy might be put through the mincer... loved the way that was said. May we have North and South, the series please?

addendum....OMG one word... and look at the picture above - ravenna.. have to do it... just have to...
quote: Never think you can't tell me things....

don't you know you can't escape me...

... ooh darlin' 'cause you'll always be my baby... sappy.. but not in the way you imagine...

... the obligatory cookout to end the summer coming up today. the group is small...smaller... smallest.. but as the other half feels strongly about charcoal food on a summer holiday - so be it. September.. didn't anyone get rid of that month yet?

... i decided i am keeping my camera. i think it does an excellent job.... can't believe it is 12 mp... and i think i could do some nice snaps with it.

... knitting... heels and heel cups done on the last pair of legs for soldier socks. Gusset decreases done on one and starting the decreases on the other...they moved quickly because with the legs... i can judge the heel cups easier... i like doing feet from legs but better not get too used to it.. lol

what have i watched? The Painted Veil - well part of it - World Trade Center just because I feel like we all lived it.... The Amazing Journey of Mary Bryant - BBC special from a few years ago... it was a sob-fest waiting to happen.

Sinking a bit... it is just too stinky some days... but... as i've been known to say on the days that are rocks... the sad fact is, we'll live....
Lifehouse - To Where You Are... can you smell the rain? i know i can...

Is there a quote for today? so simple - even a caveman could do it...
"So you are going... and never come back?"
