i will try to be weekly... but i may not succeed

this week i am working on socks for soldiers socks.. i can't believe how slowly they go when you only knit 1/2 hour a day...

i've completed the "request hat" - well i am speaking too soon but it will be done today...

and i would like to make a couple more pairs of mittens for my girl... we'll see too...

halfway through the first month....

... i decide to surface. sorry i am not better about regular blogging... lol
i've been off to visit the bairn.. she is just too cute for color tv. she fills up the holes with one tiny smile! a request from the bairn's mummy got her 4 pairs of little baby mitts to keep her little baby fingernails from scratching her little baby face. i did not take pics of them dang myself for not thinking.. but they are a free pattern called from Isanou Knits called Baby Trelawney Mitts - you can see here ... it is also available on ravelry if you are a member there... if you are not a member there and enjoy knitting, it's time to become a member there... LOL. so head on over to www.ravelry.com - i can't seem to get a link to work so you will unfortunately have to cut and paste.
my ever present socks for soldiers socks are getting 1/2 hour a day - it is not the usual constant work, but i am spread a little thinner than usual knitting.

I made two chemo-style caps for a friend who has to deal with that - and have one more made that has not been presented.. and one on the needles. She asked if i had any extra pairs of fingerless gloves so i will be getting a couple pairs of them done for her as well... will check the photos and see if i have them uploaded anywhere.. lol
the above picture is a variation on the pattern "Fetching" on Knitty.com - i just continued the cables up the back side of each glove.

also great news on the friends home front - one of son the younger's best friends got engaged over new years - so i have just finished a pair of handfast mittens for the couple. they need to get going over the ocean so i had better finish up my card and get them mailed! The handfast mitten pattern is from Countrywool and i have made them several times. I like the idea of being able to hold hands and still keep warm.. lol

soooooo (lucas north in the washroom so.. lol) can you tell what i have mostly been doing?

There is a long hiatus between programs i would like to watch on tv now.. i am an NCIS fan, so at least those are new shows... but nothing from .. welll.... you know where.. LOL
